Building Safer, Stronger Communities Together

At Radius Fire, safety is more than a service, it’s a commitment to the well-being of our community. While our technicians work every day to protect businesses from fire risks, we also recognize the importance of supporting people whose lives have already been impacted by fire and burn injuries.

That’s why for more than six years, we’ve proudly partnered with the BC Firefighters Burn Fund. Their mission - to transform the lives of burn survivors through meaningful connections, supportive programs, and enhanced care - aligns perfectly with our own values. Together, we’re working to create safer, more resilient communities.

How Radius Fire Supports the Burn Fund

Our partnership with the Burn Fund goes far beyond donations. Each year, our Community Matters team contributes time, resources, and energy to programs that directly support burn survivors and their families.

Since 2021, our team has contributed $39,000 in grants and support, including:

Annual Grant for the Thrive Program
  • Radius provides an annual $8,000 grant to the Thrive Program, which empowers young adult burn survivors (ages 18–25).
  • Thrive offers education, life skills, and a strong sense of community through retreats and mentorship.
  • Many participants later return as counselors, continuing the cycle of support.

Volunteering & Hands-On Support
  • Judging youth fire awareness campaigns across BC.
  • Decorating the Burn Fund’s Home Away unit for the holidays.
  • Baking treats for families staying at Home Away while children receive treatment.
  • Speaking at Thrive retreats on resume building and job interview skills.

Fundraising Initiatives
  • In 2023, our team hosted a Fundraising BBQ, raising $3,500 for the Firefighter Resiliency Program, which provides mental health training and support for local firefighters.
  • With the success of that event, we’re excited to announce our 2nd Annual Fundraising BBQ on Friday, August 22, 2025.

Why This Partnership Matters

For our Community Matters team and for Radius Fire as a whole, this cause is deeply personal. Two years ago, when we asked our team if they wanted to explore new partners, their answer was unanimous: the Burn Fund reflects who we are and what we stand for.

Supporting burn survivors and firefighters isn’t just charity, it’s a continuation of our mission. Fire safety is about prevention, but it’s also about healing, resilience, and community support when prevention isn’t enough.

Looking Ahead: How You Can Help

The Burn Fund relies heavily on community support. One of their largest fundraising events, Bright Nights at Stanley Park, is continuing without the iconic train ride, a key source of donations. That makes community contributions more important than ever.

Here’s how you can get involved:

  • Attend our Fundraising BBQ on August 22, 2025.
  • Donate directly to the Burn Fund to support life-changing programs.
  • Spread the word by sharing Burn Fund initiatives online.

Together, we can help ensure these vital programs continue to change lives.

Closing Thoughts

For Radius Fire, partnering with the Burn Fund is about building safer, stronger communities, together. With over $39,000 donated since 2021, we’re proud to continue this commitment and invite you to stand with us in supporting burn survivors and firefighters across BC.

Stories of Gratitude: How Fire Safety Saved the Day

At Radius Fire, fire protection means more than equipment — it’s about prevention, preparation, and protecting the people and places that matter most. Every system we install, every measure we recommend, is designed with one goal in mind: to make sure that day — the day a fire threatens lives or livelihoods — never comes.

Creating an Effective Fire Safety Plan Specific to Your Business

Every business in Vancouver, from downtown office towers to industrial warehouses and restaurants, must have a fire safety plan that reflects its specific risks and layout. A generic template is not enough. The most effective plans are tailored to how your business operates, the materials you handle, and the number of people on-site. Whether you are managing a retail store on Granville Street or a warehouse in Burnaby, a well-designed fire safety plan protects employees, property, and customers while ensuring compliance with the Vancouver Fire By-law and BC Fire Code.
